Crittenton Services of Greater Washington delivers goal-setting programs designed to affect early pregnancy, healthy relationships, teen parenting and goal setting so as to help teen women create successful lives. Crittenton’s programs support teen girls by providing them with the life skills to adopt healthy behaviors, set and achieve SMART (specific, measureable, achievable, realistic, and time bound) goals, and expand knowledge about comprehensive sexual health and post secondary education and career options.
Both the SNEAKERS and PEARLS programs are weekly, voluntary, school-based programs for girls navigating the challenges and choices of 8th grade through high school. PEARLS is a prenatal, education and support program for pregnant and parenting teens. SNEAKERS strives to delay early teen pregnancy. During their four-plus years together, it is hoped that girls in each program will develop relationships with caring adults and a healthy social network with other girls. Philliber developed an evaluation to help the program reach their goal.
